Profs. Kelvin Wagner and Dana Anderson

Fall 2001

The AOL will be jointly taught by Profs. Wagner in ECE and Anderson in Physics, in the engineering graduate optics lab facility ECE 105, and in the Physics advanced lab area in Duane. Students will work in pairs, and 3 pairs will be accommodated on each day of the lab session (T,W,R). Labs will be held from about 9AM to 10PM, but leaving for lunch and classes wont be any problem. Labs may take 8-10 hours to complete however. The first two sets of 3 labs will be held in ECEE 105, and the next 2 clusters in Physics G212. Groups will rotate through the labs cyclically and perform 12 different experiments, as well as assist with the setup of at least 1 experiment.

Organizational Meeting and first lecture Monday Aug 27 10:00-11:00, ECEE 265.

Regular weekly lab lectures begin on Monday, August 27, 10:00-10:50 in ECEE 265, as well as during lab sessions.

Lab sessions begin the following week

Schedule

Rotation schedule for 1st 3 weeks of Optics Lab.
Rotation schedule for 2nd 3 weeks of Optics Lab.
Setup helpers in bold dont have to do that lab the week they rotate through it.
1st setup starting Friday Aug 31/Sept 1 10AM in EE105.

Final in lab, Friday Dec 14 4:30-7:00 PM. Learn how to clean and care for prescision optics.

You will need a postscript printer to print the labs linked here. In addition a previewer such as ghostview would be very useful. Some of the labs are linked as both postscript and compressed (gz) versions, and either one or the other should work.
